ADAC Historic F1 weekend, Lausitzring Germany, July 2004
Highly recommended for anyone more into the engineering and passionate aspects of F1: The Euroboss F1
and Thoroughbred F1 racing series. Open pits, chat to mechanics and drivers, see and hear the cars being started
and rolling right out of the pits into the pitlane, nearly over your feet, simply incredible.

Friday evening
As we arrived on Friday afternoon, we decided to cycle to the circuit and check out the racing atmosphere in the fresh evening air. Too bad the marshalls would not let us cycle around the cirtcuit... maybe next year.

Historic Race Drivers Diet

As opposed to "modern" F1, the teams try to reconstruct the diet of the day: Tea, bacon and wine. ;-)

the Nikon coolpix did a marvellous job of capturing this one, considering it was just dumped into the void like a tea bag into boiling water.

Surtees in action
While my racing friend Bo suggested they might not even get this one running, well, they did, and it sounded every bit as good as I expected it to. The surtees seemed to have an extra gear over everyone else (just like the BRM) as the driver upshifted one more time down the Lausitzring straight, and it sounded just glorious, even if the poor car was down half a lap ten minutes into the TGP race. Roll on! I hope *she* saw me waving, jumping up and down and yelling ;-)
