Post-race comments...

Stacey Greensall

Qualifying went well, and after one aborted run, i managed to set the time good enough for pole. I went out again with a couple of mins left to cover myself from lars and managed to set a new pole so I was pretty pleased at the end of the session.

The race was real tough and only having about 4hrs seat time gave me a unknown about the tire model. I started off fast but I would soon have to let lars by because my tires were done.
Towards the end of the run i seemed to claw him back in back in, and after a few laps chasing i got a good run into t1 and totally ran out of talent. luckily i still had pace and soon got back on lars's tail and got the pass made.
I led us to the first round of stops, and came out in 2nd place behind lars, who skipped on tires and we started our fight again.
Eventually my new tires made the advantage and i got the pass made to take a maidon win in the series. Im now looking ahead to the next round at Watkins Glen. :)

First of all Thank you all for joining. 19!! cars in a Screamers race.. its
been awhile I think.
Got a bit nervous when Stacey told me on IRC he was doing 40's.as we both
didn't test much.

I soon found out that I couldn't match the ultimate laptimes Stacey was
setting on the board so I settled to do my own race.
Qualy ended as practice 2nd wich was ok considering I just got a new
nemisis...:-)

Had a clean start and slotted in behind Stacey trying to push him a bit as I
knew his style was eating away the tires.
Got past after a few laps but never ever ran away with it, he was always
close and got even closer when I came close to the end of stint. Few laps
before I pitted Stacey past me again, I just coudnt follow and decided that
my only shot was a stop without tires change.

Enter pits in lap 21 to find my pit box occupied by Brunts car lost some
serious time ( 10+ seconds) and all advantage of not changing tires went
down the drain. Left the pits only 3 seconds infront of Stacey with worn
tires ... I at least needed 10. Stacey gained fast tried to defent but it
was no use. With 2 laps to go Stacey passed and I had to settle for 2nd.

Great race one of the best I had for awhile! Stacey and I drove within the
2sec mark 99% of the race very exciting.
Congratz to Stacey and Paul.

Paul Godfrey
Congratulations to Stacey and Lars on their dominant 1-2 finish. Looked like they were having a great battle... until they got so far ahead of me that I couldn't see them anymore.

I flubbed the start a bit, and had Dave gaining on me into the first corner. Braked a wee bit too late, and went wide. Sorry to Lars for that; his quick and smart reactions avoided contact. Regained in 4th, behind Dave. Got by him on the next lap, and tried to do something about Stacey and Lars ahead, but they just steadily pulled away. I had nothing for them. I had a lonely race for the next long while, in the middle of an expanding gap between 2nd and 4th. My fuel figures seemed off, and I incorrectly adjusted fuel fill at the pitstop, ending the race with enough fuel to do an extra 13 laps. Changed tires, because my limited practice indicated that my tires started going "yellow" after 17 laps, which dropped me behind some guys who didn't change tires. I was surprised they could do that. I had relaxed my pace too much mid-race, feeling that I couldn't catch the top two, but was well ahead of the pack behind. Big mistake. Jo capitalized on it. Chasing Jo for 3rd in final laps, still trying to figure out how he got ahead of me. Gap was shrinking, but not fast enough to be confident I'd catch him. He goofed up the 2nd last turn with a couple of laps to go, and I got by. Thanks to all the backmarkers for the gentlemanly wave-bys.
