Stacey Greensall
Qualifying went well and i grabbed the pole without too much risk.
The start of the race was exciting with a fight with lars that would end up with him in the boot wall. This put a downer on my race for the next 4 or 5laps, thinkin i may of helped take my team m8 off, but luckily i soon saw him makin up places again, so i got on with things.
I then had a race long fight with Uwe, who may of been 3 or 4s behind me, but he was keepin me honest throughout. I managed to build up a gap around the pit cycle, but then lost it again when i was heavy chasing som1 who was late pitting. This put Uwe right back on my tail again, but i was able to hold it to the end without any dramas.
I'm totally surprised to have taken the joint lead after 2 races, but ill happily take it... ;)

I was really surprised claiming 2nd spot after quali, I was certain that either Lars, Andy or even Giancarlo (sadly, another no show for him it seems) would be bound for glory at the top end of the grid.
Having said that, I was even more terrified of having yet another bad start like at Mexico, so my heart was pumping at full go when the lights turned red, then green. I could hear Andy's ferocious, over-tuned BMW engine revving right behind me, and when the lights turned green I said a quick prayer to the racing god.
Looks like I was heard and I managed to pull away better than in the previous two events, but still not quick enough for Lars who had yet another rocket start overtaking both Stacey and me to claim 1st spot after exiting the Esses.
It was sad to see him go off in "big bend" when alongside Stacey, but I've lost a good many F1 GPL Brabham F1 cars in the same place so yeah, it's a notorious turn to be sure, and even more so on the first lap on cold brakes and tyres. However I have no idea how my race would have turned out had Lars staid in the top three.
After a couple of laps the race settled down, and knowing I'd be no match for Stacey I concentrated on building a gap to the guys busy fighting for 3rd place, namely Andy and Jo. One lap Jo was up in front, Andy on the next and I could tell they were having a good, all-out but fair fight.
I also noted my lead increasing on them by half a second a lap, so that was nice ;-) My pit strategy was to start with a low fuel load to avoid driving a heavy car in traffic early on in the race, and when the time for pitting came around, I praid again for getting out of the pits and not right into traffic. Again, my prayer was answered and after my stop on lap 14 or so, I came out ahead of Dave Purdy (not changing tyres) and had a clear track ahead of me.
Stacey hadn't been so lucky it seems and the gap between us was down to one second at times, but I somehow felt he was playing a game of "cats and mice", being able to go much faster had the need arisen; he was most certainly managing his lead in a very professional manner.
I decided to concentrate on my own race, saving my tyres, being careful in traffic and managing my gap on Jo which had now grown into a solid 10 seconds. Things came together in the end with a 2nd place, something I would not have begun to hope for before the start of the race.
Good racing by all, congrats to Stacey and Jo and thanks to all the guys at the back of the field who went out of their ways to allow us to pass when being lapped.
Bring on Rouen, another high-speed circuit with quite a few fast, treacherous corners.

Had a great one with Andrew right away from start. Don't know how often we changed positions but it was a lot. Always in a tough but very fair manner. That's the way how I like racing. Due to this great and entertaining battle it was not possible to catch up with Uwe, I would have loved to invite him to our drafting party ;-).
This went on till lap 14 when I decided due to strategic considerations to enter the pits. Back on the road I was in clean air with a decent gap to the guys in front of and behind me, so I could concentrate on my lap times. In about lap 24 I passed Andrew when I saw him standing in the pit lane. I was able to maintain the gap between him and me till the end of the race.
Congratulations to Stacey and Uwe and my special thanks to Andrew for his fine racing.
