I have always enjoyed laguna seca so when i saw Hristo much quicker
again in testing it didnt concern me to much and I stuck with my high
downforce set and concentrated on race strategy.
i took pole on my second run and then filled the car up with fuel so i
could pit whenever a traffic-free window opened.
The start went well and I was careful not to outbrake myself on the
early laps. This gave lars a good few laps to put the pressure on, but
after a while I started pulling a few tenths/lap on him which let me
relax more.
By the time the pit stops came, I managed to pit-in and pit-out and
still be in 1st, but I had a very light and fast chris on my arse.
Like against lars, i had a good fight with chris for a number of laps
and started to think he wasnt pitting, but he did eventually, leaving
me out all alone again.
I then just watched Hristo and Lars on the pitwall and was happy to
let them gain as much time as they wanted as i pegged a safe pace to
the chequered.
Pleased to take another one. I keep my unbeaten record a bit longer
and now I only need 2nd each week to take the series crown. good race
all :D

I had a good start from the back of the grid but had to steer left
and right to avoid some slower starters, so made sure the road was
clear to avoid any contacts.
A few cars bunched up at the apex of T1
though so no matter how hard I hit the brakes I couldn't stop on time
as they were still cold initially so I tapped someone from behind, but
he managed to keep control of his car, glad about that.
Then I came behind Dom who was rather unstable which lost me a few
seconds until he went off and I was through. The next few laps were
spent trying to pass cars, but it wasn't so easy because everyone was
similarly fast on full tanks, some even pulling away at some sectors.
Oliver especially was difficult to pass as he sure had the pace and it
took me a whole lap to get through. Eventually though I came up in 4th
after passing him and now had Jo, Lars and Stacey ahead, but I
couldn't see Stacey so he must've pulled some gap already.
I was closing slowly on Jo, but in one of the laps I made the mistake
of changing to neutral at the braking for Corkscrew and that spun me
around and then I hit the wall on the inside and the car stalled.
Restarted the engine, reversed a bit and continued, but the whole
thing lost me some 10 seconds and a couple of positions.
Tried my best to compensate, but soon it was time for my pitstop as I
was on a mid-distance stop strategy, so I dropped back again after it.
I had to pass some cars again as we went and the race seemed to be
going so quickly, it was already under 10 laps to go when I have moved
up in 5th and catching up on Jo. I was surprised to the tactics he
pulled off in the lap I battled him as he moved accross diagonally
under braking twice when I've already gone on the inside, I dunno what
was he really thinking in doing that. I finally managed to get through
on the exit of Corkscrew and closed up on Lars, but he must've had
lower wings as he pulled away easily on the s/f straight, so it wasn't
until the next time around the chicane that I managed to pass him.
With Chris making his late pitstop it was just Stacey left ahead, but
at over 8 seconds with 6 laps to go. I suppose he paced himself
cautiously because the gap dropped quicker than I expected. We had a
bit of a problem passing Eldred and another backmarkers as they were
involved in their own battle which led to some compromises in speed
and even a contact, but luckily nothing bad happened. So it came to
the final lap and Stacey eased off quite a bit and we repeated the
close Mosport finish.

Not much to say, I enjoyed being back with you guys on a track but Ii didn't enjoy Laguna one single lap.
Somehow Yankees seem to love going left as they have to many road courses going anti clockwise which i hate lol :D
So the whole race is a blur never really got into my system ( i cant even recall i made a pitstop) also i kept chatting with the misses the whole race ect ect.
Only thing that kept be going was Jo on my tail the whole race it would have been a boring and short event otherwise.
Thank you Jo for keeping me focused, would have crashed out long before then end.
Gratz to Stacey and Hristo.
