I think I have finally managed to pin-point the reason for those very
long screen freezes I was getting so the hopes before the race were
higher than usual. Also it appeared the competition would be very
close judging on the laptimes in practice sessions we ran the week
prior to the event.
As usual Stacey beat me on the start (though I thought I had a good
one) and led the field at T1 so I had no choice but to follow and try
and put pressure on him as passing is not so easy here. I made a
couple of attacks but those didn't work and it wasn't until a few laps
later that I finally managed to have a faster run on the outside of T1
and go ahead to take the lead. After that I tried to open up as much
gap as possible before my pitstop because I knew Stacey would probably
perform better in the pitlane as it usually happens. Luckily the setup
felt stable and consistent, so I could keep up the pace all the time
and have a relaxed pitstop without rushing things.
Near the end I was closing in on Stacey who lost a lot of time for
some reason and was now battling with Lars for second place, but I
decided to ease off a bit and not interfere, so they remained on the
lead lap while I took the chequered flag behind them. Finally a win in
the BMWs!
With two races to go now anything is possible, so I'll just have to
wait and see

Qualifying went ok and from 2nd on the grid I led in to turn 1.
Myself and Hrsito then sprinted away with it for a few laps, and
Hristo made a few stabs at me that I defended well, but he then got a
great run on me coming down the s/f straight and there wasnt much I
could do.
I then settled into a pace about 5 or 6s behind Hristo and I was the
first of us to pit which is where it all went bad.
Because of the short lap time, relitively long stop, and my distance
to Hristo, I came out of the pits about 5s infront of Hrsito.
I then caught a lapped car entering the esses and had to following him
all the way to the jump.
By the entry to the jump hristo had caught both of us and I was given
a blue flag warning.
I get by the lapped car at the jumps exit and immediately slow to let
Hristo by, but I get given a drive through penalty.
Im not entirely sure that flags rules should be used in leagues. I was
technicall racing hristo and if he thought I was unfairly holding him
up, he could protest it like any other incident.
dealing with the problem I served the penatly and came out in 6th and
I had to race real hard to climb back into the top 3.
I caught lars at the very end and had a good fight for 2 or 3laps, but
I could see he had saved enough to keep me back, so I settled for 3rd.
NW hristo, even without the bogus penalty, you had me on pace today.
grats to lars for the 2nd place too.
2 races to go and I need 6points. Surely its in the bag now...
